Nếu như phải tả về hành trình Marathon Laguna 2015, thật khó kiếm từ để có thể cắt nghĩa được cả không gian, con người, và sức sống ở miền đất giữa lòng Tổ quốc này. Nó phải là cái lạnh tê tê của buổi sớm khi mặt trời chưa ló dạng, những con người phóng xe vun vút trên mặt đường nhựa hướng về những quả đồi mấp mô mà tay lái thì run cầm cập. Nó phải là mập mờ màn sương cuộn mình trên đỉnh núi xanh rợp bóng cây, quyến rũ cả hồn người. Nó phải là con đò bên khe vịnh bập bềnh theo dòng nước đều đặn đẩy nhẹ từ cửa biển, thoạt nhìn chỉ muốn chìm vào đắm đuối trong cảnh sắc nên thơ, không bút nào tả xiết. Nó phải là tiếng cười của em nhỏ nhún chân sáo với chiếc khăn quàng đỏ trên vai, mắt tròn long lanh những giấc mơ của tuổi hoa vàng. Ôi một miền đất đẹp ngỡ ngàng, bước chân đến mà tôi như ghé vào thế giới cổ tích, cả màu sắc, cả âm thanh, cả mùi vị vô cùng sinh động.
“Em sẽ đua như thế nào” – chị Trinh, người bạn đường thân mến hỏi tôi về chiến thuật hôm nay.
Thực ra cái gì lần đầu tiên với tôi nó cũng nhanh, nên chưa kịp định thần thì đã qua rồi: Lần đầu thi lái xe, lần đầu đi máy bay, lần đầu nắm tay bạn gái, lần đầu hôn… Nói chung là rất chóng vánh. Riêng có cái lần đầu chinh phục cô gái 21 này chắc chắn sẽ gian lao lắm nên tôi trả lời vu vơ: “Xong là tốt chị ạ!”.
Thế là hành trình bắt đầu.
Sáng chưa tỏ những vận động viên “Phong trào” (Nhưng vô cùng hổ báo) đã rất tấp nập. Những đôi chân sắt hăng hái khởi động, độ máu lửa lên cao đánh tan cả không khí lạnh buổi sớm. Đoàn 42 km khởi động và xuất phát trước 20 phút so với đoàn 21 km. Sẽ là hơn 4 tiếng họ phải đánh vật với ý chí và những bó cơ. Tôi thầm thán phục vẫy tay chào anh Cả, chị Trinh đang vượt qua vạch xuất phát như những chiến binh quả cảm. Tự nhủ: “họ sẽ làm được”.
“Anh khởi động kĩ, cứ chạy theo sức mình thôi” – Tú gọi với rủ tôi bắt đầu bài khởi động khi chỉ còn 10 phút nữa đồng hồ sẽ điểm cho đội 21 km. Cũng là những động tác hàng ngày trên sân Hoa Lư, nhưng hôm nay sao lạ. Qua mỗi nhịp, độ tự tin của tôi càng được dâng cao. Ngọn sóng bùng lên khi tôi kết thúc bài chạy tăng tốc. Năng lượng cuồn cuộn, mình đã sẵn sàng.
Với tâm thái thoải mái là hoàn tất chặng 21km, tôi bắt đầu chậm từng nhịp nhỏ. Hãy còn 3 quả dốc lên trời ở km số 3 đến km số 5 nên mình phải dưỡng sức. Với km đầu đã có lúc tôi nhìn lại thấy mình ở kế chót đoàn đua. Thôi mặc kệ, đường dài mới biết ngựa hay, cứ để họ đi trước. Mới nghĩ tới đó thì ôi thôi: “Em đi trước đây”, cậu Tú nó bỏ mình rồi. “Em đi xa lắm, em đi xa anh lắm”, vậy là mình phải chiến chứ chả ai kéo mình lên được cả, tôi quyết như thế.
Bắt đầu chân dốc 3km là cơ hội để tôi vượt lên. Với quyết tâm “Dốc cao không đi bộ”, chân tôi đều đặn bắt nhịp từ chân đến đỉnh từng con dốc. Cô bé người Đài áo thun trắng dễ thương chạy ngay trước tôi phải thụt lùi lại, lòng đau như cắt nhưng tôi phải tiếp tục dấn bước.
Km thứ 6 là một sự bất ngờ. Một anh ngựa rám nắng đã vượt qua hơn 11km bắt vòng phóng về đích. Miệng tôi tự an ủi “Tiếp đi mày, mai mốt ít ra mày không chạy được nhanh như anh đó nhưng cũng đen ngang cỡ anh đó”. Chân lại đều nhịp.
Pacer của tôi là một bác người Hoa, dáng đi vòng kiềng nhưng nhịp chân thoăn thoắt. Tôi nhắm bác ấy ở gần giữa tốp từ lúc đầu, nếu vượt qua bác này và giữ nguyên tốc độ hoặc tăng tốc thì chắc chắn thành tích mình cũng tạm ổn. Ở km số 12 tôi phải thất lễ với bác để vượt qua mặt. Nếu bạn chạy bộ chắc cũng biết quyết định vượt một người ở quãng đường dài thật sự khó khăn lắm vì bạn phải tăng tốc, nhịp tim cũng sẽ tăng, và nếu người đó khỏe hơn bạn cố gắng cò cưa thì bạn sớm muộn cũng thành cá đớp oxy. Rất may cho tôi là bác ấy không thèm chấp thằng ngựa non, và tôi cứ băng băng đi tới.
“Hi five hi five hi five….”, đám nít nhỏ mặc đồng phục học sinh cứ vài cây số làm đứng ở vệ đường đợi các vận động viên chạy qua. Nhịp thở vẫn đều, tôi quyết không uống một tí điện giải trong 10 km đầu tiên. Và tôi làm được điều đó cũng nhờ đám nhóc này. Mỗi lần chạm vào những bàn tay nhỏ, guồng chân tôi bỗng cứ tăng lên đầy kiêu hãnh. Giờ đây tôi mới khám phá ra không chỉ có thức ăn, luyện tập mang lại năng lượng cho chúng tôi, sự cổ vụ hồn nhiên cũng là liều thuốc giúp mình vượt qua vạn dặm.
Và một mình anh phóng vun vút trên con đường vắng. Có 2 lý do dẫn tới cảnh lãn mạn đó, một là tôi đã bị tốp đầu cắt quá xa, họ phần lớn đã về đích (đồng hồ đã báo gần 2 tiếng), hai là tốp sau bị kẹt bởi 3 con dốc cuối do phần lớn đã hết xăng phải chịu trận đi bộ. Đoạn cuối chân dốc thứ 6, tôi thừa trớn giữ nguyên tốc độ phóng về 5 km. Ở đây có một điều thú vị là cứ mỗi lần tôi thấy ai phía trước là guồng chân nhất định phải đua qua người đó. 1 người, 2 người, 3 người, … Tổng cộng là 8 người tôi vượt qua được trong đoạn nước rút này. Những trạm tiếp nước cuối tôi ra dấu cho xin hẳn chai nước để tiện cầm theo, vừa chạy vừa uống cảm giác không nghe lời mẹ thật là tuyệt, mốt đau bao tử nhe con.
Và…tôi về đích 21 km trong 2 giờ 25 phút.
Tôi cảm thấy gì ư? Xin trích lời Tú người bạn chạy chung: “Marathon là một quá trình, chính những cảm xúc, niềm vui, sự thú vị được thể hiện trong suốt thời gian ta luyện tập và vượt qua nó”.
Với tôi về đích chỉ là về đích, vì tuần sau, tháng sau, năm sau, tôi vẫn sẽ xách giày tận hưởng cái cảm xúc lâng lâng lướt trên mặt đường. Chạy bộ đường dài là niềm hạnh phúc của tôi. 42, 50, 100 km… cứ tiến bước…
