Mình muốn chia sẻ lại trải nghiệm hành trình về miền Tây và cảm giác đã chiến thắng giới hạn của bản thân khi tham gia VRChallenge – Journey to the West vừa qua. Hi vọng những ai chưa chạy bộ cũng như muốn chinh phục cự ly Half Marathon có thêm cảm hứng để luyện tập. Và cũng để đánh dấu cột mốc 21km đầu tiên trong đời của mình. Thật sự không có cảm giác nào vui sướng và tuyệt vời hơn là chiến thắng được bản thân. Vâng, chỉ cần chiến thắng chính mình thôi chứ không cần một ai khác.
Mình chạy bộ cũng khoảng 2 năm, nhưng chỉ là chạy thư giãn mà các anh em Runners hay nói vui là Pace dắt chó đi bộ thôi, tức có nghĩa là hái hoa bắt bướm rồi về nhằm mục đích tránh ngồi một chỗ quá lâu. Tham gia VietRunners từ đầu tháng 2, tính đến giờ thì cũng được 3 tháng.
Quyết định đăng ký Challenge này khá là bất ngờ, ban đầu không tính tham gia vì công việc đang quá nhiều, nửa tháng trời mình không chạy một chút nào, cộng với việc đang ăn ngủ không điều độ thì thể lực không hề sẵn sàng cho chuyến đi. Tối thứ Năm trước ngày sự kiện diễn ra (vào thứ 7 – CN), tính chỉ ra công viên Gia Định để gặp mặt hỏi han và chúc mọi người có chuyến đi vui vẻ. Nhưng gặp Phúc và Tín, 2 bạn hỏi đã đăng ký chưa. Mình nói: Chưa, anh đang bận và mệt quá sợ không bảo đảm được. Tín nói: “thôi quất luôn đi anh“. Không biết lúc đó trời xui đất khiến thế nào mà mình: “Uh, quất luôn, tới đâu thì tới” Thế là tối đó về submit thông tin đăng ký, chuyển tiền cho BTC và google 1 số thông tin cần thiết để chuẩn bị chiến :).
Thật sự thì mình cảm thấy phải làm một việc gì đó mang tính thử thách một chút, vì bản thân đã ở trong safe zone khá lâu rồi (từ Tết đến nay). Tới giờ vẫn thầm cảm ơn Phúc và Tín vì đó là quyết định đúng đắn và tuyệt vời nhất của mình trong tháng 5 này!
Tới tận ngày chiến là thứ Bảy 23/5 mình vẫn ngồi làm việc đến 5h30, trong khi đó 7h30 là phải có mặt tập trung rồi. Shutdown cái máy tính lại, vơ vội mấy bộ đồ cộng thêm save đường chạy vào điện thoại đề phòng lạc đường. Hầu như không có sự chuẩn bị gì nhiều. Trước khi đi mẹ không quên động viên: “Mày không chạy nổi đâu, tay chân yếu xìu mà chạy cái gì“.
Phóng xe xuống quận 1 tập trung thì gặp ngay đám kẹt xe khủng khiếp tại bồn binh Gia Định- Nguyễn Thái Sơn, lúc này là 7h15 rồi. Trong lòng nghĩ thôi rồi, chỗ này có bao giờ kẹt xe đâu hôm nay tự nhiên lại vầy chắc không kịp quá! Móc điện thoại ra gọi anh Khôi báo sẽ tới trễ để mọi người biết, sau đó dùng hết kinh nghiệm luồn lách và sơ đồ đường hẻm Sài Gòn ra để phi thẳng về đích đầu tiên là điểm tập trung.
Lên xe, đến điểm nghỉ ở Cần Thơ là gần 12h, sau khi ổn định chỗ ở thì cũng đã 1h, trong khi đó 4h sáng là phải dậy để chuẩn bị di chuyển ra điểm xuất phát tại trung tâm Cần Thơ. Nghĩa là chỉ có 3h đồng hồ lấy lại sức!!!
Sáng dậy không ăn gì, chỉ một cái bánh bò nhỏ (cô của chị Tiểu Phương trong nhóm làm) dằn bụng và uống ít nước trước khi chiến. Đường chạy là từ trung tâm Cần Thơ -> qua cầu Cần Thơ -> ôm hết tỉnh lộ -> vượt qua cầu Mỹ Thuận -> về đích.
Với tình hình luyện tập và sức khỏe đã nói ở trên, mình chỉ đăng ký mốc 21km và mục tiêu thoải mái là hoàn tất được cự ly đã đăng ký thôi. Không đặt ra mục tiêu thời gian để bản thân không thấy áp lực.
Sau khi khởi động thì cũng đến lúc xuất phát, 15km đầu từ trung tâm CT qua cầu Cần Thơ, rồi đến tỉnh lộ, mình cảm thấy bước chạy thoải mái, chưa có dấu hiệu đau chân hay chấn thương nào. Thầm nghĩ: “Ngon rồi, cứ giữ thế này thì tà tà về đích thôi không có gì phải lo“.
Chưa bao giờ mình nghĩ có một ngày sẽ hít thở cái không khí ở miền Tây, cảnh ruộng lúa hai bên xanh ngát theo cái cách khùng điên và hành xác như thế này. Cố hít thở đầy phổi cái không khí trong lành này, tận hưởng từng bụi chuối, hoa và cỏ dại ven đường. Lâu lâu lại có mấy em cổ động viên mắt to tròn đen láy đứng nhìn, không quên nhai nhóp nhép đám cỏ dưới chân (mấy em trâu đấy ạ).
Nhưng ác mộng thật sự đến khi vừa qua km 15 thôi, lúc này hai bắp chân cảm giác sắp bị căng cơ, cũng phải thôi vì suốt nửa tháng không vận động mà giờ bắt nó hoạt động 15km với nhiên liệu ở mức minimum thì cũng không có gì quá ngạc nhiên. Mình chủ động chạy chậm lại, nói Phúc giữ pace chậm khoảng 500m hi vọng chân nó sẽ quen dần lại và giãn ra. Nhưng không, đến km thứ 16 thì mình không chạy nổi nữa dành phải đi bộ, lúc này để Phúc chạy cùng vượt lên trên trước. Một phần cũng vì cung đường tỉnh lộ, một số đoạn khá xấu phải vừa né xe tải vừa nhìn đường để tránh bị lật cổ chân (1 chân chạy trên nền đất chân kia chạy trên mặt đường nhựa), lại còn phải vượt qua cầu lớn cầu nhỏ cầu liên tục.
Tự trấn an chỉ còn 6km nữa thôi, cứ bình tĩnh giữ pace đều và về đích, tranh thủ đi bộ khoảng vài trăm mét thì lại tiếp tục chạy bước nhỏ, lúc này chân lại căng cứng nữa rồi, lại phải đi bộ. Bất ngờ anh Khôi từ phía sau chạy lên, thấy mình đi bộ anh động viên cố gắng lên, chạy cùng mình một đoạn. Rất cảm ơn anh Khôi vì luôn động viên mình và các anh em khác trong tất cả các buổi tập cũng như Challenge lần này. Có những đoạn chỉ còn 1 chai nước thôi và đủ hớp vài ngụm, anh nhường hẳn cho mình.
Dù đang chạy với tốc độ rất chậm, chắc khoảng 10’/km nhưng cơ thể đã cạn kiệt năng lượng rồi. Cái nắng gay gắt cứ đổ xuống, nhịp tim và huyết áp tăng quá cao, nếu cố nữa có thể xỉu tại đây sẽ rất phiền phức cho mọi người. Biết không thể theo nổi nên nói anh Khôi cứ chạy trước đi không cần đợi mình nữa. Lúc này mình dùng mọi cách để có thể tiến lên phía trước, không chạy được thì mình đi bộ bước dài, không di bộ bước dài được thì đi bước nhỏ, mặt cứ cuối gầm xuống ráng đẩy cơ thể tiến về phía trước. Dù nhanh dù chậm nhất định cũng phải tiến lên và về đích.
Mình nghĩ bây giờ còn khoảng 6km thì không thể hoàn tất được, nhưng chia nhỏ ra mỗi 500m thì hoàn toàn có thể, chỉ cần giữ cơ thể tiến lên là được. Nhất định không bỏ cuộc, ít nhất không phải hôm nay! Mình biết các đồng đội đang đợi ở phía trước, không thể để họ đợi lâu hơn được nữa!
Rồi cũng đến lúc cơ thể đã đạt mức giới hạn của nó, cái nắng oi bức từ trên cứ đổ xuống, hai mắt lúc này hoa lên cả rồi. Bình thường toàn chạy vào ban đêm trời mát nên chịu nắng không bền được. Bắp chân căng cứng, không thể bước thêm một bước nào nữa, hai chân thì cứ đá vào nhau liểng xiểng. Nếu ai chạy từ phía sau mà nhìn mình thì chắc sẽ có cảnh tượng rất buồn cười: một thằng mặt cái áo cam chói lóa mặt cúi gầm hai chân thì cứ tự đá vào nhau cố lết lết về phía trước.
Phải dừng lại một chút thôi, đây có lẽ là lần nghỉ thứ 10 của mình chỉ trong vòng 6km cuối rồi. Trước mắt là làm vài động tác căng cơ để có thể đi tiếp được cái đã, rồi băng sang đường mua 1 chai nước suối và 3 ly nước mía, quất một phát hết 3 ly còn chai nước suối để dành tưới lên đầu cho mát ở đoạn tiếp theo. Ông bán nước hỏi mấy chú ở đâu mà chạy ra đây, sau khi nghe mình giải thích bọn con từ Sài Gòn về đây tổ chức chạy để thử thách bản thân. Ổng nhìn mình một lượt rồi lắc đầu cười. Không biết ổng nghĩ gì nữa?!
Sau khi bổ sung ít nước và nghỉ chừng 8′ lại tiếp tục, chạy bước nhỏ và chậm, qua một cái cây cầu gỗ hình như thế, mình nhìn phía trước con đường thẳng tắp, có khoảng 5 bụi chuối rải rác, lúc này đặt mục tiêu theo từng cây chuối, chỉ cần vượt qua mỗi bụi chuối là được, lại tiếp tục chuẩn bị ôm một khúc cua. Lúc này là còn 2km theo định vị của điện thoại.
Vừa qua khúc cua, lúc này mắt đã hoa rồi nhìn từ xa thấy mờ mờ cái xe chắn ngang và thấy Toàn, Kung Chim ngồi hướng về mình, thấy Chim đứng lên vẫy vẫy tay thế là biết đã đến đích rồi, còn khoảng 150m cuối cùng nữa thôi, bung hết sức lực và chạy bằng niềm tin và ý chí để vượt qua mốc 21km.
Cảm giác lúc đó thật tuyệt vời các bạn ạ, cái cảm giác mình đã vượt qua được giới hạn của bản thân, tiếp tục bước bằng ý chí và niềm tin, chạy bằng những giọt năng lượng cuối cùng trong người còn sót lại.

Đây là lần chạy Half Marathon đầu tiên của mình từ khi tham gia tập luyện với nhóm VietRunners. Thực sự không nghĩ nó đến nhanh như vậy, vì mục tiêu ban đầu là tập luyện cho Hồ Chí Minh Run 21km vào đầu năm 2016 lận :).
Hành trình này chắc chắn là kỷ niệm khó quên và trải nghiệm tuyệt vời của mình cùng với Anh Chị Em VietRunners. Tuy chỉ tham gia nhóm 3 tháng nhưng mình học hỏi được rất nhiều thứ (ý chí, đồng đội, …) cùng mọi người. Thật may mắn vì được chạy với những con người như thế.
Vậy là cũng đã kết thúc, sáng nay ngủ dậy dư âm trong đầu vang lên giọng nói chất phác của người miền Tây: “Đ* má, mấy thằng khùng. Giữa trưa nắng mà chạy bộ”.
Uh thì, chúng tôi rất là khùng!!!
